Welcome to Trondhjemsridtet 1919
Trondheimsridtet, which took place for the first time in 1919, will be commemorated in 2012. The “Norsk Veteran Motorsykkel Club“ is organizing a rally, which will take place May 26-29th.
The first Trondsheimsridtet was a breakthrough for Norwegian motorsport, and the 2012 rally will follow the original route used in 1919 on peaceful and vintage type roads. Start will be in Oslo (then named Kristiania) and the rally will pass through Kongsvinger, Røros,Trondheim, Orkanger, Oppdal, Gjøvik, and back to Oslo. The total distance is 1117 km. In 1919 it was completed in approximately 48 hours in very bad weather. Our rally will take place over four days, and accommodation will be in comfortable hotels. We will enjoy the Norwegian springtime at sea level, ride through famous Norwegian valleys and across some of Norway´s finest mountain areas. You will experience at least two seasons during the trip, which means that you will need different types of clothing. Last but not least: you will enjoy the company of friends dedicated to driving old motorcycles at comfortable speeds.
The event is open to motorcycles manufactured before 1955 and in close-to-original condition. Because our capacity this year is limited, the event will focus on gathering experience which will help us to develop the rally into an even better future international FIVA-approved event. Although the number of participants must be limited, we will do our best to offer our friends from abroad a place in the starting field.
Starting fee must be prepaid by March 20th, and will cover hotel accommodation and meals. For single room accommodation the starting fee will be NOK 3925. For double room accommodation: NOK 3250. Please add Nkr. 50 for bank fee.
We suggest that you study the maps and the description of the daily stages on the website, so that you will have a good overall understanding of the event. Please do not hesitate to contact us by email for further information, at
